Adobe refund never arrived? What to do

Quick answer

Adobe's "Understand billing charges" page says: "Refunds may take 10-14 business days to process and be credited to the payment method used to purchase the subscription."

As of Oct 17, 2026, Adobe's Understand billing charges page doesn't say whether this line covers a refund that Adobe Support agreed to on a call or chat.

Our suggestion: if the refund still isn't on your statement, ask Adobe in writing for the date the refund was issued and a reference number for it. Use the message below.

Steps

  1. Write down what Adobe Support told you. Our suggestion: note the date of the call or chat, the amount, any case number, and the agent's name if you have it. If you used chat, save a copy or screenshot of it.
  2. Check the card or account you paid with. Adobe's billing page says refunds are "credited to the payment method used to purchase the subscription." Our suggestion: check that exact card or account, including a card you've since replaced.
  3. Pick a check-back date. Our suggestion: use the 10-14 business days on Adobe's billing page as a checkpoint, counted from the day Support agreed to the refund. Adobe's page doesn't say this timing applies to refunds Support agreed to.
  4. Find the invoice for the charge. Adobe's "Find Adobe invoices and receipts" page says: "In the Orders and invoices window, select View invoices for your plan or product." It also says: "We store up to 3 years of invoice history in your Adobe account." Our suggestion: note the invoice number for the charge you were promised a refund on, so you can quote it.
  5. Older purchase? Adobe's invoices page says: "Receipts are available only from July 2026 onwards. For earlier purchases, contact Adobe Customer Care."
  6. Bought through Apple, Google or Microsoft? Adobe's Cancel page says: "For subscriptions purchased through third-party providers such as Apple, Google, or Microsoft, follow their specific cancellation process." That line covers cancelling only. As of Oct 17, 2026, none of the Adobe Help pages listed under Sources say how refunds work for purchases made through Apple, Google or Microsoft. Our suggestion: ask that store about the refund as well.
  7. Follow up with Adobe in writing. Adobe's "What are my contact options?" page lists phone and chat for account and payment questions on Creative Cloud and Acrobat individual plans. Adobe's contact page also says: "For information on your individual subscription, visit your Adobe account." Our suggestion: use chat so you have the conversation in writing, and send the message below. Keep a copy of everything you send and receive.
  8. Still nothing after your follow-up? Our suggestion: follow up once more on a set date, and quote your first message. Don't wait through repeated follow-ups: card-issuer and bank deadlines are counted from statement dates. Our guide Charged after you cancelled? What to do explains them. Its messages are written for a charge after cancelling, so adjust them to say a promised refund didn't arrive.

What to write to Adobe Support

Hi Adobe Support, On [date], Adobe Support agreed to refund [amount] for my [plan name] plan. Case or chat reference: [number, if you have one] Agent name: [if you have it] Charge details: Invoice number: [from your Adobe account] Charge date: [date] Transaction ID: [transaction ID from your statement] Account email: [your Adobe account email] The refund hasn't appeared on my [card or account] statement as of [today's date]. Please confirm in writing: 1. The date the refund was issued, or the date it will be issued. 2. A reference number for the refund. 3. The payment method it was sent to. Thank you, [Your name]

Why this wording: it quotes the original promise with its date, gives Adobe the invoice and charge details, and asks for the refund date and a reference number in writing. It makes no legal claims and assumes nothing about the result.
